1. Emerald's Restuarant

Monday-Thursday 11am-8pm, Friday & Saturday 11am-pm, Sundays CLOSED
We love the burgers, steaks, and desserts here! Even on a busy Friday night we have fast and friendly service. When we first found our home in Waynesboro and knew we wanted to make an offer, we had dinner at Emerald's and enjoyed the food and ambiance. Even now we think Emerald's has the best catfish dinner in Wayne County. Emerald's in Waynesboro is family-friendly, delicious, and super cost-friendly.
2. El Guadalajara Mexicana

931-722-6220
Sunday-Wednesday 11am-9:30pm, Thursdays 11am-9pm, Friday & Saturday 11am-10pm
There isn't anything we don't like at El Guadalajara! My favorite is the Enchiladas Suizas, because they are flavorful and filling! We also love the Special Dinner because it is an excellent variety of flavors and dishes. And don't forget the dessert chimichangas! The outdoor patio is a great place to enjoy your meal and see the passersby. If you are looking for an affordable, delicious, and great-portion size meal in Waynesboro, be sure to check out El Guadalajara Mexicana.
3. Dad's Pizzeria
705 State Highway 99, Waynesboro
931-722-2308
11am-9pm seven days a week
Between having a drive through pickup to being open seven days a week, this is one of our favorite local Waynesboro gems! We've enjoyed their pizzas the most, but also the calzones and dessert pizzas! As a mom with two littles, it's been so convenient to call in an order and pick it up if no one can agree on what to eat. It's great to have leftovers so you get at least two meals when you get a pizza at Dad's.
4. Wagon Wheel Cafe
100 Public Square East, Waynesboro
931-213-9093
Sunday-Thursday 8am-8pm, Friday & Saturday 8am-9pm
We love the variety of daily specials at Wagon Wheel Cafe! You can't beat their prices or chicken! You get great portions and a delicious meal, plus a cozy atmosphere at Wagon Wheel. The fried pickles are my favorite around. Don't forget to try their breakfast!
5. La Potosina
1355 Wayne Road, Savannah
731-925-9704
11am-10pm seven days a week
If you're looking for delicious Mexican food in Hardin County with family-style servings, check out La Potosina. They're always busy any time we go, but the service has always been fast and friendly. If you enjoy margaritas, we think they have the best around. There's so much seating so if you have a large family, you can still get seating and have room to spare. Julia's Favorite Quesadilla is a dish to try and enjoy!
6. Strikers Steakhouse
321 Crews Street, Lawrenceburg
931-244-7457
Sunday-Thursday 11am-9pm, Friday & Saturday 11am-10pm
The first time we went to Striker's, we almost couldn't find it, it's such a local hidden treasure! But if you're looking for amazing steak in Lawrence County, look no further than Striker's. We especially love the Coffee-Cured Filet and specialty Street Tacos! There's a good selection of chicken, fish, vegetarian options, and filling side dishes as well if you're not a big steak-eater.
7. Hank's Family Diner
17 N. Park St, Hohenwald
931-306-2976
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday 10am-8pm, Wednesdays & Thursdays CLOSED, Fridays 10am-8pm, Saturdays 9am-8pm
Hank's is such a special family diner, with classic and vintage decor, an old-school milkshake counter, and family-friendly meals. Even if no one can agree on a meal, there's something for everyone here. My favorite is Elvis's Favorite, because it's a filling sandwich but you feel like you're already having dessert.
